Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 16, 2026
1. Introduction
Digby ("we", "our", or "us") operates the digby.ai platform. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our multi-model AI chat service.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information:
- Account Information: Email address and password when you create an account.
- Chat Data: Messages you send and responses generated by AI models during your conversations.
- Memory Data: Personal facts and preferences you share that Digby remembers to personalise your experience.
- Uploaded Files: Documents, images, and other files you upload for AI analysis.
- Usage Data: How you interact with the platform, including features used and session information.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and improve our AI chat service. We do not use your content to train AI models (see section 4).
- To personalise your experience using your memory and profile data.
- To process your queries through the AI models that generate Digby's answers.
- To maintain and secure your account.
- To communicate with you about service updates.
4. AI Models
Answers are generated by custom-tuned open-weight AI models running on hardware located in Canada. The other models Digby uses — for example to search your documents and read images — also run on hardware located in Canada. We send a model only the information necessary to generate a response and never your account credentials.
We do not use your conversations, memory, uploaded files or any other content you provide to train or fine-tune AI models — ours or anyone else's. Your content is used only to provide the service to you.
5. Data Storage and Security
Your account, chat history, memory data and uploaded files are stored on servers located in Canada (the AWS Canada Central region, Montréal). We use encryption in transit (HTTPS) and implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information. Chat history, memory data, and uploaded files are associated with your account and are not accessible to other users unless you explicitly share them.
6. Your Rights
- Access: You can view all your data through the Settings page.
- Deletion: You can delete individual chats, clear your memory, or request full account deletion.
- Export: You can share and access your chat history at any time.
- Correction: You can edit your memory facts and profile information.
7. Cookies and Local Storage
We use essential cookies for authentication (refresh tokens) and local storage for your access token and UI preferences. We also use Google's measurement and advertising tags (Google Analytics, Google Ads and Google Ad Manager), which set Google cookies, and the Meta Pixel, which sets Meta cookies, to understand how the site is used and to measure sign-ups. When you create an account we also send Meta a hashed (SHA-256) copy of your email address with the sign-up event so it can be matched to an ad. These tags never load for Digby Kids accounts. We also keep our own first-party analytics: a random visitor id (a first-party cookie, kept 13 months), a one-way hash of your IP address (never the address itself) and the traffic source that brought you here (for example a Google or Facebook ad, a search engine or a referring site), so we can see which channels bring people to Digby and how they use it; Digby Kids accounts are never tracked.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes through the platform.
